BIOGRAPHY
Philip Brown began photographing his local rugby league and basketball teams in Canberra in the early 1980s.
Brown came to London in 1988 and was employed by a group of Australian newspapers to cover the 1989 Ashes cricket tour, the first of many Test matches he would go on to photograph throughout his career. Following that Ashes series, Brown continued as a freelance in London, mainly working for The Daily Telegraph, covering a variety of sports, before eventually deciding to specialise in Cricket.
Many thousands of his pictures have been published in newspapers, magazines and books, and he continues to travel the world as a specialist cricket photographer.
In 2021 he created a book of his cricket photographs titled “The Colours of Cricket”, featuring his favourite images from his prestigious 30-year career.
